Singapore Government’s Initiatives
The Singapore Government announced in 2003, a plan to transform the Sentosa Island and the Marina Business District into an international business destination, resort and exclusive residential enclave with the most desirable address in Singapore.

Sentosa Island is located south of the main island of Singapore.The Sentosa Cove development lies on the south eastern side of the world renowned island of Sentosa.
Comprising of 117 hectares of land, Sentosa Cove's master plan is designed by the renowned architect, Burchill VDM of Australia.

It is accessible to the main island of Singapore by road, monorail, ferry and overhead cable cars.
By road , the Central Business District and Singapore International Airport are less than 15 minutes and 30 minutes respectively from Sentosa Cove.
International arrivals by pleasure crafts can make use of the new Integrated Arrival Plaza at One˚ 15’ Marina Club within the Sentosa Cove Development.

New Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort

The new Marina Bay Integrated Resort (IR) is being developed by Las Vegas Sand at the nearby South Marina. Scheduled to be completed in 2009, it will be Singapore’s first casino.
At a projected cost of S$5 Billion it will be the most expensive casino in the world. In addition to the casino, there will be a 2,500 rooms hotel, convention center for 52,000 people, an art and science museum. Inspired by cards deck it is designed by the renowned Moshe Safdie.
New Resort World at Sentosa

The Resorts World at Sentosa Island , is under construction and is scheduled to be completed in 2010.
To be built at a cost of S$5.2 Billion, the 49 hectares resort will be a theme park called Universal Studios Singapore. It will be the largest theme Universal theme park outside of Universal Studios Florida.
There will be 6 world-class hotels and Singapore’s second casino will be located beneath one of these , the Maxims Residences.
